I phoned for an appointment and was not spoken to very nicely and the reception staff was not at all helpful ~ I couldn't book an appointment. I phoned back 10 minutes later and a lovely lady called Lin answered my call, asked what I needed, and sorted me with a telephone consultation. Other receptionists in the practice would benefit from some customer care training from Lin. Well done to Lin for her helpful and caring nature.

Reception staff are extremely rude and terse ~ no care or thought given that the person they are speaking with is either unwell or is phoning on behalf of someone who is unwell. A course in customer care would be beneficial to improve their attitude and sensitive handling of calls.

I called the surgery to ask if a Dr could come out to my son due to high temperatures & he is prone to febrile convulsions. I expressed concern that having to wrap him up to bring him out in the cold would be detrimental. The on call Dr refused & I had to take him to surgery. The GP I saw dismissed all of my concerns, telling me to keep giving meds for temperature & that his chest was clear. Despite my son having a history of convulsions & hospital admissions due to chest infections & increased work of breathing. 6 hours later, I find myself at hospital with my son, who has a severe chest infection & sky high temperature (despite meds) The GP was completely dismissive of my parental concerns, patronizing & bordering on rude. I am extremely disappointed by this, as the GP I regularly see with my son is fab & has been a wonderful source of support & advice. He has never once made the wrong decision regarding my sons care. Sadly this is not the first time I have had this problem with the GP I saw today, but had no choice as she was the on call. I will not trust her again with my sons health

Whilst the new automated telephone system is a vast improvement, I was kept on hold for 5 minutes waiting for a receptionist and the phone cut off. In all it took just over 8 minutes to make the appointment. I was given a prescription and since have since found out that it is available to the general public to purchase over the counter at a quarter of the cost of a prescription, this information was not made available to me by either the prescriber of the pharmacist which is very disappointing. I do not visit my general practitioner feeling disappointed if i do not come away with a prescription I am more than happy to listen to advice on recommended available treatment's that i may be unaware of. I think that some honesty and transparency could be applied in this area.

Online bookings... General/Online/Overnight..? What's that all about? And where's the option for telephone appointments? With so many Dr's there it should be easy to see the one you want, but it appears they like their time off too much!
